Tribals?

A tattoo is technically defined as a rapid rhythmic rapping. However it’s more commonly used definition, or at least the one I will focus on, is:
"A permanent mark or design made on the skin by a process of pricking and ingraining an indelible pigment or by raising scars."

Tattoos are seen as body art, a medium for expression. Some get tattooed to represent something important that occurred in his or her life. Others are tattooed due to some foolish mistake during a drunken weekend away from home. Those who don't have them want them, those who already have them can't help but want more. And then there are those who are opposed to them all together.

Nevertheless, in the tattoo world, there will always be the good, the horrible, and the most bizarre tattoos one could think of.

Now I understand that no matter what tattoo you may choose to get on your body is YOUR choice, well at least it should be. But there are quite a few kinds of tattoos that I believe, and several tattoo artists believe, should be outlawed.

The number one kind of tattoo in particular is the overdone, uber trendy, essentially meaningless TRIBAL tattoo.

Ok, newsflash, tribals stopped being "cool" the day they attempted to become popular.

Tribal tattoos today have no significant meaning, but yet for some ridiculous reason people still find the need to waste tattoo artists’ time by even assuming an artist wants to hear their idea for a tribal design. Unless you are living with an island tribe, don’t even bother opening the door to a tattoo shop with the thought of getting a tribal- I assure you, no legitimate, well known, accomplished tattoo artist wants to hear it. Seriously, what is the point in getting useless solid black lines across your body?

On at least four different occasions I have watched tattoo artists laugh young adults, body builders, and recently turned 18 year old girls, out of the shop.

But on a higher note, considering I can dismiss tribal tattoos every hour of the day, if there is a significant reason in getting a tribal, other than ‘it looks pretty’, then by all means, go for it...just don't inform me of it ;)
